Priory Woods School & Arts College A Special Place to Learn

COVID-19 Update

As of next Monday 10.1.22, our processes around managing close contacts with a confirmed case of COVID-19 have changed.

From this date, if your child is a close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, whether in school, at home or in the community, it is now recommended that they test using lateral flow tests daily for a period of seven days. They can continue to attend school, but you must remain vigilant for any symptoms, at which point a PCR should be accessed.

We ask that you make us aware should the contact be out of school and we will make you aware of any school contact.

Should anyone in our school, pupil or staff become positive, we will maintain the ten day isolation period. This is because the advice is that two negative tests should be achieved on day six and seven, followed by a period of maintaining mask wearing, social distancing and not in crowded places for the remaining three days. This is unlikely to be achieved in our setting. This decision has been made in consultation with local Public Health.

We would also like to remind you that where possible, lateral flow tests are taken twice a week.

You may be aware that locally, the rates of infection are extremely high and especially so within the working age population. This is causing problems with the workforce, including within schools. Working together, we can do our best to keep our school community safe and our school open.

Stay safe!
Kind regards
Janis
